We’ve made an update to the ATS application form to help personalize your recruitment experience even more!
What’s New?
A Preferred Name field has been added to the ATS application form. This new field appears alongside the existing contact detail fields, including First Name and Last Name.
How It Works
When an applicant fills out the ATS application form, they will now have the option to enter a Preferred Name.
This field is optional.
If filled in, the Preferred Name will be used as the primary display name across the applicant’s profile.
Example:
If an applicant enters:
First Name: Jonathan
Preferred Name: Jon
Last Name: Smith
Then on their applicant profile, their name will appear as:
This helps you address applicants the way they prefer to be called while still retaining their legal first name for reference.
When using {{first_name}} notations in message templates, we will fill that with the preferred name if there is one provided.
Why This Matters
Using a candidate’s preferred name supports a more inclusive and respectful hiring process. It ensures your communication with applicants feels personal and aligned with their identity.
